dLook - Australian Online Business Directory
dLook.com.au was launched in April 2006, listing over 1,000,000 businesses. It is run by a privately owned company dLook Pty Ltd, and to date has been self funded. dLook is managed by Meg Tsiamis who has a background in finance.
As an alternative Australian online business directory, dLook is differentiating their directory product by allowing users to define their search range by kilometre radius, request multiple anonymous quotes from suppliers, allowing businesses to display discount coupons and providing advertisers with a lower cost alternative to the existing online directory offerings.
In October 2006, dLook released dLook Dating, a slightly different online dating product in that it is free to contact members who have paid to display their profile.
In April 2007 dLook integrated a mapping function and "more information" pages for every business, as well as a mobile search facility - dLook.mobi. The site was developed and maintained by Melbourne website designers Alliance Software.
